Pot, People, and Predicaments: Marijuana, Employment Law and HR Issues

Watch out! Legal landmines can pop up unexpectedly on your radar, and dealing with their flare-ups can be rough on you (and your team)! Attorney Mary Ellen Reihsen will share her insights and experiences from events clientele on how to sweep through this mine-ridden landscape of our industry, as well as answer your burning questions. Delectable courses of Asian-inspired cuisine will be served by The Triple Door & Wild Ginger in the historic Mann building, a true Seattle icon.

Our Speaker

Mary Ellen Reihsen is a business attorney focusing on the legal needs of companies in the wedding and events industry, working with hundreds of businesses, of every variety, in the weddings and events industry. Mary Ellen speaks, both locally and nationally, on a variety of legal topics impacting the weddings and events industry: agreements for every occasion; employment law issues; changing laws impacting online activities and sales {this is a big one}; cannabis and events; etc. Mary Ellen has offices in Seattle and Minneapolis, but represents clients across the country.

“I love my job. I love my clients. I want to be the wedding and event industry’s attorney.”

Our Venue

The Triple Door
216 Union Street
Seattle, WA 98101

The historic Mann building that houses The Triple Door was originally home to the Embassy Theatre, a vaudeville house that opened in 1926.  The theatre remained one of the premier movie houses in Seattle for the next 30 years.

The historic building was purchased with plans to build a music and dinner theatre in the old Embassy. In the fall of 2002, the renovation began with a simple goal: to create an intimate, comfortable space that would connect performers to their audience. Since then, The Triple Door has become a local treasure and a true icon of the Seattle landscape.
