Wow. Just Wow. What an amazing time we had at the National Experience conference!!

As always, the education and the programs were top notch, the hotel was beautiful and, while it was a tad hot for our Seattle blood, the weather was beautiful!

Most of the attendees traveled in on Saturday and had a great reunion with our NACE counterparts from around the country. Sunday got us kicked started with a few sessions to cover NACE business and some awesome afternoon classes ranging from networking skills to F&B trends. Sunday night we had a poolside reception complete with a synchronized swimming performance – the weather was beautiful and we had lots of time to enjoy the weather and our colleagues before we headed inside for and hors d'oeuvre reception. With a live band to entertain and vendors rolling cigars by hand, the NACE team certainly kicked off Experience 2016 with a huge success.

One of the best parts of Experience is definitely the classes and Monday and Tuesday were no exception. Some of the stand outs were:

  1. More Than Just a Pretty Picture: Advanced Social Media Strategies
    Speaker: Morgan Montgomery
  2. David's Great Big Session of Everything
    Speaker: David Caruso
  3. 2016 Event Lighting and Decor Trends
    Speaker: Kevin Dennis
  4. The Business of Relationships: Building Your Wedding Business by Networking Like a Pro
    Speaker: Meghan Ely
  5. Beyond Customer Service: Gracious Hospitality
Speakers: Ann Ashley and Chris Maslin

Monday night, we danced on tables with the Greeks, sailed down the Intracoastal Waterway and swam in the ocean at midnight – all in true NACE fashion.

Tuesday night was a night to remember. Always the most anticipated of the evening events, the Awards Gala did not disappoint. Greater Seattle chapter brought home the award for Best fundraising event for our 50 Shades of Green event last year and Tacoma chapter brought home an award for Program of the Year for Chapters less than 100 members. The Northwest certainly shone bright that evening!

It was a pretty amazing, albeit, exhausting few days. We learned a tremendous amount, broadened our network and had an absolute blast in the process. We will definitely be working hard to bring much of what we learned back to our chapter meetings. There were some great program ideas that we will be working on in the coming year. A huge thank you to everyone that made it possible to Greater Seattle to win another national award!!
