Chapter News

We want to hear from you! How can we make it an even better 2018?

Help us help you! Please take a moment to take our brief member survey. It is important for us to hear from our members about what you would like to learn more about at our chapter meetings and any ideas you may have for fun venues to host our meetings at!

We here at Seattle NACE hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. What a crazy time of year this is! It can seem like the wheels are going to come off at any moment while you try to balance the impossible task of focusing on family, all of your holiday events, future clients, shopping and all of the general chaos that December brings.

As the year winds down, your Seattle NACE board is turning our attention to planning one of the most notable events we have each year, the annual fundraiser and gala. As we begin our planning efforts for this fabulous event, we ask that you consider your donations for the coming year and include Seattle NACE and our beneficiary, Birthday Dreams. Please see our letter to understand all the ways you can support one of the best local events of the year.

We appreciate how busy you are right now, but we hope you will take just a minute to read the attached letter and focus on one of the most important aspects of the holiday season - the season of giving.

We hope we can count on your support, and we hope to see you on April 19th, 2018 at The Golf Club at Newcastle.

Now is the perfect time to get involved and get more out of your membership than you ever imagined. We are looking for some fabulous professionals to be a part of advancing our growth. Are you looking for an easy way to expand your network, open doors and advance your career? Joining one of our committees is a simple way to do all of those things at once. As a committee member, you get access to some pretty great opportunities, including access to local & national educational opportunities, travel and development scholarships, fun team building opportunties and so much more. Email us now for more information, or come see us at one of the monthly meetings.

We are looking for support in the following areas:

Membership Committee
Instantly expand your network and get acquainted with many of the amazing individuals in our industry. As a member of the Membership Committee, you will work with the 2nd VP and the Membership Chair to maintain our relationship with our members and our community, as well as contribute to developing valuable member benefit programs.

Programs Committee
Let your creative side soar and join us in developing all of the amazing educational and social programs we execute each month. It's fun and rewarding collaboration where you will get the chance to provide your input on the programs, topics and themes for our monthly events. Get to know vendors, venues and caterers and expand your network while being a part of a damn fun team.

Communications Committee
Fun, informative, quirky and engaging - just a few of the ways we like to craft our content and communication to our members. Are you a social media mastermind, or do you want to grow that skillset? Do you enjoy telling a good story or crafting engaging emails? You are exactly who we need to work with our Secretary to develop all of the amazing content that is delivered to our followers.

Finance Committee
It's not all bean counting, people!! Not only do you get to work with the fabulous Monica Newby, but you also get to do some really thoughtful work in regards to governance and donations. In addition, you will get to know your fellow members better by occasionally helping out at the registration/welcome desk. Grow your network, develop your business acumen and have some fun.

Next Monthly Meeting

The color you choose sets the tone for the first impression of your company, your brand, and your event. In this session we will go through the emotions that specific colors evoke, learn tips on how to forecast what colors will be trending, and how to incorporate various shades and hues into your brand and your event.

You will leave with an understanding of the various color meanings and invaluable tools to get the best response in your marketing efforts, and ultimately create a successful business brand or event.

Venue & Caterer

Hotel Sorrento
900 Madison Street
Seattle, WA 98104
(206) 622-6400

Crown jewel of the farthest, leftest corner of the country, Seattle has a long and fabled history of doing things its own way. Hotel Sorrento has been part of that history since the beginning (almost): When we opened our doors in 1909, our first guests were the anxious prospectors, cagey entrepreneurs and curious tourists who attended the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, which was pretty much the first time anyone outside the Northwest had ever heard of Seattle. Intrepid men and women from near and far came to rest their heads in our guest rooms, celebrate their adventures in our sumptuous Fireside Room, and dance and dine at the Top o’ the Town, the city’s highest restaurant way up on the seventh floor. The Sorrento became Seattle’s original hub of hospitality, creativity and urban life.

Booking your meeting or private event at the Sorrento immediately sets it apart from the mundane: This is Seattle’s oldest boutique hotel, after all, and its history and architecture inspire creativity and unforgettable occasions. Our main-floor rooms are warm and intimate spaces, more country-home-in-the-city than generic commercial space, ideal for small meetings and corporate retreats. Our penthouse is the literal pinnacle of the Sorrento, a top-floor retreat with luxurious well-appointed furniture, rooftop deck and dramatic view of the city.

The Sorrento is located in First Hill, one of Seattle’s oldest neighborhoods. We’re adjacent downtown and the Washington State Convention Center and within walking distance to three hospitals and Seattle University. We can accommodate anywhere from five to 120 attendees with an attentive onsite catering and service staff. Let us know how we can help you plan your next meeting or event.
